Join Salt Lake Drawing Club for the second session of our Artist Lecture Series!
Subtractive portraiture from life with Alexis Rausch
Learn to map out a portrait drawing from life using the subtractive drawing technique with charcoal. Rausch will overview basic portrait anatomy while also demonstrating how to transition planar analysis in your drawing to realistic shading without losing the likeness of your subject. Recommended supplies are: powdered charcoal, chamois or paper towels, vine or willow stick charcoal, and/or compressed charcoal pencil, kneaded eraser.
You can learn more about Alexis on her website www.alexisrausch.com and on Instagram @alexisrausch
The lecture with live model will take place from 6-7pm, followed by the regular drawing session with two models until 9pm. Some of the model's poses will be portrait-friendly so that artists can practice skills presented during the lecture.
