Ecstatic Dance at Clubhouse | Code of Conduct

Ecstatic Dance at Clubhouse is a community practice, a space to move freely, connect authentically, and express yourself through rhythm and stillness. Together we create a sacred, inclusive, and safe environment where everyone can dance without judgment, pressure, or harm.

Our Shared Intentions

Dance in Awareness
Dance is for all ages. Kids on the dance floor deserve extra space, respect, and joy. Though it takes a village, please be responsible for your own kids.
We dance barefoot and sober (no alcohol or drugs). You can wear shoes for extra support if needed for comfort or medical needs.
No phones, no cameras, presence is the practice.
Bodies Choice: You are responsible for your body and boundaries. Listen, move, and rest as needed.

Respect Boundaries & Consent
Connection on the dance floor is always by mutual consent.
Eye contact, mirroring, or dancing near someone is communication, stay attuned.
If someone steps away or offers prayer hands, that means “no.” Respect their space fully.
Before any physical contact, ensure clear mutual consent.

Community Safety & Care
If you witness or experience unsafe behavior, notify a Clubhouse Ecstatic Dance team member.
Our team supports resolution with compassion and confidentiality.
We do not tolerate harassment, violence, or predatory behavior.
Accountability and communication help us grow together.

Nonverbal Dance Floor
The dance floor is a nonverbal space. Take conversations outside to preserve the meditative environment.

Radical Responsibility
Each dancer contributes to the energy and safety of the space.
Take responsibility for your presence and your impact.
The more grounded we are individually, the safer our collective experience becomes.

Deal Breakers

The following behaviors are not tolerated and may result in being asked to leave the event or a longer suspension from participation:

• Harassment of any kind, including deliberate misgendering, stalking, intimidation, or taking photos/videos without consent.
• Patterns of non-consensual social contact or physical intimacy.
• Personal attacks, insults, or threats.
• Violence, threats of violence, or doxxing.
• Discrimination or bias based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, or body size.

Reporting & Accountability

If you experience or observe behavior that feels unsafe or not aligned with our Code of Conduct, please report it.

You can:
• Speak directly with a Clubhouse Ecstatic Dance team member, facilitator, or front door person, or
• Email EcstaticClubhouse@gmail.com

All reports are handled confidentially and with care.
If a report involves a member of our team, that person will recuse themselves from the process.

We document every concern, follow up with resources and next steps, and take appropriate action when necessary. We understand that we are protectors of the dance floor, not frontline responders. Our protocols prioritize safety, consent, and respect for all participants, and we may refer individuals to external resources for matters beyond our scope.

We are a community committed to spaces free from racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, and other forms of oppression.
We respect all pronouns, gender identities, and expressions.
We design our gatherings with accessibility, compassion, and curiosity at their center.

• Show up with awareness and care.
• Respect all participants, organizers, and the space.
• Take responsibility for your presence and impact.
• Practice ongoing consent, inclusion, and accountability.
• Abide by the stated community guidelines.
