Community Guidelines :

Don’t Touch the Art

  • Drawing Night is like a time warp. When you view the model, you’re looking at future artwork. So, treat the model a little like the Mona Lisa at the Louvre. Plexiglass and stanchions all around. is it really cool to hug a stranger when they’re in their bathrobe?

Some People Keep a Low Profile

  • We work with some models who prefer to limit exposure of their modeling activities on social media. Salt Lake Drawing Club will not tag or name models in our content for this reason. When posting artwork from a session, we recommend artists do the same.

We Are Camera Shy

  •  Models should never be photographed for any reason during a drawing session, no matter what the circumstance is. Please beware of models in the background when photographing artwork or taking other snapshots around the building.

Consent and Credit: Our Favorite C-words

  •  Artwork is the intellectual property of the artist. Obtain consent before you take photos of the art, and credit the artist if sharing on social media. It’s not nice to make the artist do the work of asking you to credit your post correctly. It’s easy to do this right the first time.

Go Ahead - Swipe Right… But Only If You See Them on Hinge

  • We get it. Meeting people in SLC is hard! Maybe you could meet your soulmate at Clubhouse. But really, allow fate to intervene without trying to help it along. Leave the models to their work when they are modeling for our sessions. don’t ask for their number. Don’t ask if they’re single. Don’t ask them out for a drink, etc.

No Fashionably Late Entrances

  •  If you arrive late, you’re welcome to hang out in the Salon until the current pose is over or draw upstairs from the overflow seating on the balcony. While the models are actively posing, please avoid using the doors to the main auditorium. This is to maintain a private setting, and to reduce disturbances for everyone once the session has started.
